The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the August dates for grants receipts, which will start out with older persons grant
SASSA previously promised that social grants, including the pension, disability, children and associated grants, would be paid as early in the month as possible. In August, the second day of the month falls on a Tuesday.
According to SASA, social grants will be paid in the following order:
- Wednesday, 3 October – Disability grants
- Thursday, 4 October – All other grants will be paid from this day onwards
- Tuesday, 2 October – Older Person’s grants (pension)
“There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed,” said the agency.
As previously reported, the post office no longer pays the R350 grant. Its beneficiaries are encouraged to collect from approved retail outlets or have it deposited directly into their bank accounts.
