The R350 Social Relief Grant Payment schedule is announced each month by the South African Social Security Agency \u2013\u00a0<\/span>SASSA<\/span><\/a>. This is the organisation that has been put in charge of distributing and providing government assistance for the special Covid-19 Social Relief benefit. There are a number methods of you can check and receive your R350 social grant payment. See how to check SASSA status with\u00a0<\/span>Moya\u00a0App<\/span><\/a>. You can also use your\u00a0<\/span>cellphone<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to check your sassa status via SMS or WhatsApp.<\/span><\/p>\n

Payment via Bank Account<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Receiving payments via\u00a0<\/span>your bank account<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is probably the most convenient payment method and fastest way to receive the grant, it also means you can avoid queuing in person at the Post Office. \u00a0The amounts for each month will be paid into the bank account of the beneficiary as per the grant application. Please note that the bank details or cellular phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the approved applicant used in the Covid-19 R350 grant application process to make sure that payment goes to the correct recipients.<\/span><\/p>\n

Payment Collection<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have any banking details, individuals can collect your grant cash from the\u00a0<\/span>Post Office branches (SAPO\/Post Bank)<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>Pick-N-Pay<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>Boxer stores<\/span><\/strong>. Or alternatively a\u00a0<\/span>Bank Mobile Money Transfer<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(cash send option). You will only be able to collect the grant money once you have received a notification SMS confirmation to say there has been confirmation of payment. What is my SASSA Status is Pending?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, for a lot of people, when they check sassa status online it is only showing as \u201cpending\u201d and they are unable to receive the R350. The official SASSA recently released the below message on 1st June 2022:<\/span><\/p>\n

Payments for the new cycle of the special\u00a0COVID-19 SRD grant (from April 2022) will be\u00a0paid as from mid-June 2022.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

SASSA will continue clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle as and when the bank details are confirmed. The payments will not be done together, but will be done month by month. More than one payment may be made in a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount.
